At this time, all booking for Memory Animals happens on my Facebook Group Page, “The Forest of Eight Trees Company”. To have a Memory Animal made by me, you will need to be a member of this group. Each quarter, I host what I call a “Booking Day” where you can secure a spot on my calendar.

After you have paid your deposit, you will get an email with the following information:

What’s next?

First, if you haven’t chosen your clothing/fabric items you would like me to work with, I’ll give a quick run down of basically everything that I can utilize:

Baby/Children’s Footed Sleepers: This are GREAT! If you ordered a bear, I can make the entire bear from one, or combine two if you’d like. If you ordered a larger animal, two or more of these within your collection of clothing is really great, as the side pieces of most Memory Animals require the extra fabric. Sleepers can be made from fleece, jersey, terrycloth, organic knit, etc. If it’s a footed sleeper, it’ll work.

Tshirts, Onesies, knit shorts…basically any fabric that stretches when you pull it:

AWESOME! This is some of the best stuff to work with. If the tshirts are adult and have larger appliques on the front, I may need to either crop the applique to make it fit, or sew it on by hand after I’ve made the piece.

Cotton, non-stretch clothing, like dress shirts, dresses, denim ANYTHING, etc:

Yep, I can work with it. These work best with the larger Memory Animals, but I can incorporate them as accents on the little bear. Thick denim can be a challenge to work with, but it’s not impossible.

Leather, pleather, upholstery fabric:

I try to stay away from these, as my machine is not “industrial”, but they aren’t impossible to work with. Please email me first if you plan on incorporating these, so I can tell you for sure if they work.

Thick items such as winter coats, sweatshirts, hoodies, suit coats, wool items:

I can work with these for the most part! What I do is “break them down” so that suit coats are separated from their liners, for example. Sweatshirts and hoodies are no problem at all. Wool or uniforms are workable as well. If you plan on using a Military Uniform, all I ask is that the uniform has been discharged.

Blankets, Quilts, Sheets, Pillowcases, Curtains, etc…

Yep! They’re just fabric!

If you have read all of this and still wonder if your fabrics will work, shoot me an email! I’m happy to give you the thumbs up or thumbs down before you start planning and ship.

How do you get your chosen fabric items to me?

Two options. If you need to ship, please send everything to me at:

Stacey Von Busch

PO Box 619

Pulaski, WI 54162

If you are local/in the area and prefer to drop off at my home, please email me the week before your scheduled date to set up a time to stop by. I will give you my address at that time.

What should go with my order?

Any special instructions that you have for me are best if they’re in a letter with your clothing. If you ordered multiple pieces and certain fabrics go for certain animals, please separate them clearly so I know. If you wanna share why you chose the clothing/fabrics you did, I LOVE THOSE KIND OF LETTERS.

When should you ship?

Just the week before. I work out of my home, and I don’t have a ton of space to store orders. There is no need to ship too early, it just makes for a mountain of boxes.

How long does it take?

I used to say I’d be done by the end of the week you were assigned. I no longer like to rush myself like that. Typically, I can be done in two weeks if I’m on schedule, but please allow up to a month before you see that final invoice that tells you I’m done.

What happens if I miss my scheduled week?

Don’t fret! While I do not send reminder emails (so hold on to this one), if you do miss your date, shoot me an email and I can tell you where I’m at with orders. Most likely, I’ll just tell you to ship at your earliest convenience and I’ll squeeze you in as soon as I can. Do try to remember your date though (add it to your calendar to ship/drop off the week before your date). I set my schedule as I do because I know that’s what will work best for me to complete pieces in a timely and intentional manner.

Didn’t choose your animal yet? Here’s a quick run down of my price list for you to consider:

Finally, when it comes time for me to create your Memory Animals, local clients will have the opportunity to chat with me in person when you drop off your chosen clothing. Out of town clients can request a Zoom conference with me for up to 10 minutes to discuss your keepsake project (I still LOVE those letter though, so keep them coming!
